A .TEL domain name allows you to send and receive
emails like other domain name extensions. However, since Web Hosting of a .TEL
domain name is quite different from hosting of other domain name extensions, DNS
Records for a .TEL domain name cannot be managed in the usual manner.
DotSiam.com allows you to configure the necessary
MX Record(s) for your .TEL domain name from the Domain Management interface
itself, within your Control Panel. Listed below are processes to add, modify or
delete MX Records for a .TEL domain name:
Adding an MX Record
- Login to your Control Panel, search for the domain name and proceed to
the Order Details view. Click
here to know how >>
- Click the Manage MX
Records link. This will bring
up the Manage MX Records view.
- Provide the following details and click the Add button:
- Host Name: Enter a Fully Qualified Domain Name like mail.isp.com.
Note that a Fully Qualified Domain Name always ends with a "." in the
end.
- Priority: An MX Record has a Preference number indicating the
order in which the email server should be used (only relevant when
multiple MX Records are defined for the same domain name). Email servers
will attempt to deliver email to the server with the lowest preference
number first, and if unsuccessful, continue with the next lowest and so
on.
- TTL: This is the Time To Live for this Record. Any Server
which once queries this Record will query it again after this time
interval.
